The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who want to study or work where English is the medium for communication. It is recognized by more than TEN THOUSAND organizations including that are academic colleges/universities, non-academic organizations, employers, professional associations and government bodies in more than 140 countries across the globe.

Understanding IELTS Academic and IELTS General Taining

Before booking your test, understand if you need IELTS Academic or General .

IELTS is available in TWO different versions: Academic and General. Each organization accepts IELTS will normally specify which version the candidate desires to take examination for your application. In some cases either IELTS Academic or General Training may be accepted. If you are in doubts as to which to take, the candidate should contact the organization he/she is applying to in order to check your requirements.

In both IELTS Academic and General Training tests, the candidates are tested on all  FOUR LANGUAGE SKILLS viz, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW)-unless the candidate has an exemption due to a disability. Everyone has to take the same LISTENING AND SPEAKING Tests. There are different READING AND WRITING Tests for IELTS  Academic and General Training.
